As Les Enfoirés itself refers to a group of French-speaking artists who give every year since 1986 in changing metropolitan France a charity concert in aid of the organization Les Restos du Cœur. History

In January 1986, the humorist Coluche founded the organization Les Restos du Coeur ( The German Restaurants of the Heart ) supplied the needy with food and thus the purpose by the German boards is comparable. Etymology

There is no exact German -language equivalent to Les Enfoirés. Even in the French-speaking world, the term was not coined until the founding of the ensemble present and its present significance.
