Metropolitan Borough of St Pancras

The Metropolitan Borough of St Pancras was a district in the metropolitan area of the British capital London, with the status of a metropolitan borough. It existed from 1900 to 1965 and was in the northern part of the former county of County of London.

History

St Pancras was originally a civil parish in the county of Middlesex. As of 1855, the village belonged to the catchment area of the administration union Metropolitan Board of Works. 1889 came to the County of London St Pancras, eleven years later it was transformed into a metropolitan borough.

At the foundation of Greater London in 1965 arose from the merger of the Metropolitan Boroughs Hampstead, Holborn and St Pancras the London Borough of Camden.
