Description

1703 bought Don Pedro Fernandez de Castro a piece of land, then located far from Buenos Aires. He died a few days later and his daughter Ana inherited the property. The name, however, Chacra de Castro ( Castro's farm ) and Montes de Castro ( Castro's mountain ) remained in my memory, from which then developed the name of today's district.

Today Monte Castro is a residential neighborhood of the middle class, albeit at the end of the 1930s cost by the Compañía General de Construcciones (social) apartments were built, which are now being recycled. Overall, the building is low and there are few high-rise buildings.

In Monte Castro is the football club Club Atlético All Boys home, which was originally founded in Floresta, but in 1924 moved to Monte Castro. Its stadium is the Estadio Islas Malvinas.

The Stadtteiltag takes place every year on 14 May to commemorate the acquisition of land from Don Castro.
