The municipality covers an area of 15 km ². Neighboring municipalities are Agliano Terme, Castel Calcea, Costigliole d' Asti, Isola d' Asti, Mombercelli, Montaldo Scarampi, Rocca d' Arazzo and Vigliano d' Asti.

In Monte Grosso d' Asti Barbera vines of the Barbera d'Asti, a DOCG red wine with status, as well as the Barbera Monferrato are grown.
