Moorrege

Moorrege is a municipality in the district of Pinneberg, in Schleswig -Holstein. The land districts, Heidrege, Klevendeich, Moorrege and upper Glindemann belong to the present municipality. The districts land and Klevendeich are the Haseldorfer march, the districts Heidrege, Moorrege and upper Glindemann are mostly on the Geest and during the 20th century increasingly fused together.

Geography and transport

Moorrege is located on the Pinnau, bordering the city and the communities Uetersen Appen, Heist, Haselau and Neuendeich. Federal highway 431 and the historic Ox Road through the community. By several bus lines Moorrege is directly connected with the cities of Pinneberg, Uetersen, Wedel and Elmshorn and with the Haseldorfer march.

History

Moorrege was first documented in 1285. At that time the place was called " Mor ", which probably refers to the marshy environment. The name Moorrege means " row of houses on the moor ." The Early Bronze Age grave mound De Danzenbarg at the Pinnau is one of the earliest evidence for settlement in the municipality.

In Uetersener church book the place is mentioned in 1712 as " Mohr rules ".

On April 1, 1948, the Office Uetersen country was founded, which was renamed in 1953 in the Official Moorrege. At the same time the official administration was moved to Moorrege.

The St. Michaelis Church in Moorrege was built in 1960.

Economic History

1803 pointed Moorrege to 578 inhabitants, whose number rose to about 1700 to 1910. This was due to the creation of jobs through the Alsen cement factory, which was located here until 1930 basically. This also took over the Glinder Tonkuhlen from which clay was recovered in the 13th century. Therefore, there was a long brick. Two shipyards on the Pinnau, one of them the shipyard Johan Hinrich Jacobs 1898-1960 were long resident in Moorrege. On the JH Jacobs shipyard in today Werftweg ran in 1909 with 64 tons of payload one of the largest Ewer, the " Petrine " from the stack. The connection to the water is still maintained by the here -based coastal shipping companies.

The introduction of the coat of arms for the municipality Moorrege was approved on 28 October 1993 by the Ministry of the Interior of Schleswig- Holstein. The black color indicates the reference to the original name " row of houses on the moor ." The five balls symbolize the land districts, Heidrege, Klevendeich, Moorrege and upper Glindemann. The river Pinnau - Located on the outskirts of Moorrege - is represented by the wave beam. The green color symbolizes agriculture, the anchor centuries of maritime transport and the Maschinenrad the industry as a source of income.

Culture and sights

A real eye-catcher with its large park, is still the 1870 Built by Detlef Lienau country house, the so-called Castle Düneck. Also located in the district Klevendeich the oldest functioning swing bridge in Germany, the swing bridge Klevendeich of 1887, which crosses the river Pinnau.

Facilities

1957 a new elementary school was built, which is used as an elementary school since 1974. At the same time the school center with major and junior high school was built in the sky Barg.

Economy

The premises of the Nordmark pharmaceutical and Stora Enso in Uetersen are major employers in the community. Also located in the industrial area several car dealerships and a supraregional Werkzeugschleiferei.
