Nam Yuen District
Amphoe Nam Yuen ( Thai: อำเภอ น้ำยืน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeast of Thailand, the Isaan.
Etymology
The name Nam Yuen comes initially from the village of Nam Yuen, which housed the first administration building. Furthermore, flow in the area of Nam Yuen three abundant rivers, the Bon ( ห้วย บอน ), Chong ( ห้วย โช ง ) and the Ta Em ( ห้วย ตา เอ็ ม ), therefore means Nam Yuen in the Thai language " sustainable water ".
Geography
Amphoe Nam Yuen borders the following counties (from west clockwise): Amphoe Nam to the Khun, Det Udom and Na Chaluai in Ubon Ratchathani province, and to the Champasak province of Laos and the Preah Vihear province of Cambodia.
The most important water resource in the county is the River Dom Yai.
History
Nam Yuen was born on March 17, 1969 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the four Tambon Song, Ta Kao, Yang and Dom Pradit from Amphoe Det Udom were separated. On March 29, 1974, he was promoted to Amphoe.
Administrative units
Amphoe Nam Yuen is ( tambon) divided into seven municipalities, which in turn in 101 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
Chief of the county is Mr. Witthaya Munnoisu
There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Nam Yuen ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล น้ำยืน ), consisting of parts of the tambon Song and Si Wichian.
There are next seven Tambon Administration Organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
Note: The missing numbers refer to the tambon which now belong to Nam Khun.
