Khemarat District

Amphoe Khemarat ( Thai: อำเภอ เขมราฐ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeast of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Amphoe Khemarat borders the following counties ( from the southeast clockwise): Amphoe Na at the Tan Pho Sai, Kut Khaopun Ubon Ratchathani province, and to the Amphoe Pathum Ratchawongsa and Chanuman Amnat Charoen Province. In the northeast, on the other bank of the Mekong River is the Laotian province Salavan.

The most important water resource of the circle is the Mekong River.

History

Mueang Khemarat is an ancient city. In the Rattanakosin era she was a " First Class City ", which was directly subordinate to Bangkok. However, during the Thesaphiban reform in the early 20th century it has been assigned to the province of Ubon Ratchathani.

Administrative units

Amphoe Khemarat is ( tambon) divided into nine municipalities, which in turn in 117 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are five small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Khemarat ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขมราฐ ), consisting of parts of the tambon Khemarat,
  • Wongsa Thep ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เทพ วงศา ), consisting of other parts of the tambon Khemarat,
  • Kham Pom ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ขาม ป้อม ), consisting of the whole tambon Kham Pom,
  • Nong Phue ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ผื อ ), consisting of the whole tambon Nong Phue,
  • Hua Na ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หัว นา ), consisting of the whole tambon Hua Na.

There are in addition five - Tambon administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).

Note that the missing geo- codes refer to the Tambon, from which today consists of the County Na Tan.
