Muang Sam Sip District

Amphoe Muang Sam Sip ( Thai: อำเภอ ม่วงสามสิบ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northwestern province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from east clockwise): Amphoe the Lao Suea Kok, Mueang Ubon Ratchathani and Khueang Nai province of Ubon Ratchathani, Amphoe Hua and Taphan, Lue Amnat Charoen and Phana the province Amnat.

The main rivers of the district are the Bok Se and Se Bai.

History

In 1909, the government merged the two circles Kasem Sima and Utarupala Nikhom and named the new district Utara Ubon. Four years later the name was changed back to Kasem Sima. The administration building was moved in 1917 to Ban Muang Sam Sip, the name of the district was adapted to the new situation. Later in 1924 the government built there a new administration building. The current administration building was built in the same area in 1993.

Administrative units

Amphoe Muang Sam Sip is ( tambon) divided into 14 municipalities, which in turn in 158 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Muang Sam Sip ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ม่วงสามสิบ ), consisting of parts of the tambon Muang Sam Sip.

There are in addition 14 Tambon Administration Organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
