Pho Sai District

Amphoe Pho Sai ( Thai: อำเภอ โพธิ์ ไทร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani. The Ubon Ratchathani Province is located in the northeastern region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from south-east clockwise): Amphoe Si Mueang the May Trakan Phuet Phon, Kut Khaopun, Khemarat and Na Tan. In the northeast, on the other bank of the Mekong River is the Laotian province Salavan.

History

The sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Pho Sai was formed May 5, 1981 from the three Tambon Pho Sai, Muang Yai and Samrong, which were separated from the county Khemarat. On August 12, 1987, he got his full Amphoe status.

Administrative units

Amphoe Pho Sai ( tambon) divided into six municipalities, which in turn in 68 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Pho Sai itself has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon), it consists of parts of the Tambon Pho Sai.

There are also six administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
