Nedvědice

Nedvědice ( German Nedwieditz ) is a patch in Okres Brno- venkov, Czech Republic.

Geography

The municipality is located below the castle Pernštejna, about forty kilometers north- west of the center of Brno, at the confluence of the Svratka and Nedvědička. It is a part of the natural park Svratecká hornatina.

History

1350, the village was first mentioned in writing. However, it can be assumed that this village existed at the time of the first written entry of the castle Pernštejna. Southeast was since the 14th century the Vladikensitz klecany. There is a known incident from the Thirty Years War, when the hundred -strong garrison the six thousand Swedish soldiers successfully resisted.

Until January 1, 2005 Nedvědice belonged to okres Zdar nad Sázavou and the Highlands region. Since 2006 the town has again the status of a Městys.

Local structure

The Městys Nedvědice consists of the districts Nedvědice ( Nedwieditz ) and Pernsteins ( Pernštejna ) and the local situation klecany ( Kleczan ).

Geology

In the district Pernsteins located at Lomy mountain two old quarries, was involved in the collection until the second half of the 20th century the Pernštejnové marble. It is a white to off-white crystalline marble medium who can show by accessory components light gray or golden ribbons. The rock has been mined since the Middle Ages. In the Church ( 1557) Doubravník there are architectural elements from this rock. More applications can be found in cemeteries and churches of Moravia and in the city of Brno. Typical applications were in times past grave times, crosses, sculptures and columns, as well as floor tiles and steps in historical architectural monuments. The end of the regular decomposition is in 1935. In stratigraphic terms, this marble is part of the Kristallinikum in Svratecká anticline of Moravikums, which was overshadowed by the convolution of the Olešnické group.
