Nikolaus Mondt
Nikolaus " Niki " Mondt ( born August 9, 1978 in Dusseldorf ) is a German professional ice hockey player who plays for the Düsseldorf EG of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga for the 2012/13 season.
Career
Mondt began his career in junior Düsseldorf EC, for the first team he his first 21 DEL games completed during the 1995/96 season and achieve two points scorer and could have a plus / minus stats by 5. In his first year as a pro in 1996 the center with the Düsseldorf team won the German championship. In the years following the links Sagittarius was among the top performers in the team and had a place in the main squad. After the DEG had relegated for 1998/ 99 in the 2nd Bundesliga, Mondt left his longtime employer and was hired by the Kassel Huskies on.
The Huskies saw the attacker, in addition to the championship title with DEG, its sporty successful period. In his first season, the native of Düsseldorf came on 51 missions in which he scored 22 points. A year later Mondt reached with the Huskies the play-off semi-finals, where they failed with 0-3 defeats at the eventual champions Munich Barons. In summer 2000, the center forward returned to his hometown club Düsseldorf EC that rose at the same time from the 2nd Bundesliga in the DEL.
In DEG Nikolaus Mondt did not fulfill his previously signed three- year contract and joined instead, during the 2002/ 03 season the ERC Ingolstadt. With the Panthers the attacker in the years 2004 and 2005, respectively reach the play-off semi-finals. Internationally
In addition to his career at club level Nikolaus Mondt was several times in the Germany squad. In 1995 he ran for the first time on the German team, as he stood in the cadre of junior national team, with whom he participated in the World Youth Championship in Canada in the same year. In the following years, the attacker completed 22 caps for the German youth teams before he was nominated for the senior team in 1999, with whom he participated in the 1999 B Cup. There Mondt missed the team's promotion to the A group, but came in seven games for use and was able to achieve a point scorer. This was also his last appearance to date in the German national team.
