It was only on 16 April 1969, the Beatles came together at London's Abbey Road Studios to record a final version of Old Brown Shoe. It was the first time since the fourth year that the Beatles ever worked together in the studio. Just two days earlier, Paul McCartney and John Lennon recorded without Ringo Starr and George Harrison song The Ballad of John and Yoko for a single release. Old Brown Shoe should now be the B-side. Produced Old Brown Shoe by George Martin and Chris Thomas, whom Jeff Jarratt assisted. First, Harrison took the morning on another demo version of the song.
