The Beatles (No. 1) is a published on November 1, 1963 EP by British rock band The Beatles. It was the third EP of The Beatles, which was released on Parlophone. All four tracks of the EP are from the album Please Please Me, the debut album of the group. The EP was released only in mono.
Background
At the time of publication of its third British EP, the Beatles had established itself as the dominant musical force in the United Kingdom. Their debut album, Please Please Me was since May 1963 # 1 on the UK album charts, the eponymous single reached # 2 on the singles chart, the following singles From Me to You and She Loves You led the hit parade of months. Both EPs the group made it to No. 1 on the EP charts and also could still place in the singles charts. At the time of the release of The Beatles (No. 1) the previously published Beatles EPs occupied more space 1 and 2 of the EP charts. The Best Placement of The Beatles (No. 1) was the second place.
Overall, The Beatles (No. 1) 29 weeks held in the EP charts, including 11 weeks in the top - third In the singles charts for the EP came up to # 19 in Melody Maker and at # 24 in New Musical Express ( NME ).
The cover photo was from Angus McBean. It was one of the photos he had taken for the cover of the album Please Please Me.

As with Twist and Shout, the first UK Beatles EP came all four songs from the first album of the group. The two pieces of the first page were compositions by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the pieces on the second page were cover versions.

Reissues
The EP The Beatles (No. 1) was pressed up in the 1970s. In December 1981, the EP was released as part of the box set The Beatles EP Collection, containing all British EPs. On 26 May 1992, this set was published as a CD issue.
