Petteri Nummelin

Petteri Nummelin Timo ( born November 25, 1972 in Turku ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since May 2013 in Lukko Rauma in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Petteri Nummelin began his career in 1989 in his hometown of Turku TPS in the A- youth. In 1990 he started his professional career at Kiekko -67 Turku. After playing there and at the Pelicans Lahti couple of seasons, he moved in 1995 in the Swedish Elitserien for Västra Frölunda. In 1997, he played in Switzerland for HC Davos. Only at the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 the now 27 -year-old was drafted Nummelin than 133 of the Columbus Blue Jackets. This brought him to the 2000/01 season in the National Hockey League, but after one season he left the NHL again and moved to HC Lugano. With Lugano, he twice won the Swiss Championship and a number of awards, for example, as MVP of the NLA.

After his second title of Swiss Champion with the HC Lugano he goes, despite continuing as the contract for two more years (until 2008), for two years in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild. Since the 2008/ 09 season he plays again at HC Lugano, since he has signed a three year contract with an option for two more years. In the fall of 2012 Nummelin was loaned for a total of eight games to his hometown club TPS. In March 2013 Nummelin had first of all, his career after 568 NLA games to finish ( and 624 points scorer ), but then decided to continue his career at Lukko Rauma.

Internationally

For Nummelin Finland took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 1992, and the A World Championships from 1995 to 2007 in part. In addition, he was in the squad Finland at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. In his career, Nummelin has denied more than 250 games for the national team.
