Pfaffenheim

Pfaff home on the Alsace Wine Route, is a commune with 1324 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. She is a member of the Association of Communes of the Pays de Rouffach, Vignobles et Châteaux.

Geography

Pfaff home is situated in the Upper Rhine valley on the eastern edge of the Vosges at 200 meters above sea level, about 14 km south-west of Colmar and 32 km north of Mulhouse. East of the village flows the leeks. The nearest major town is Rouffach south. The municipality covers 14.57 km ². The highest elevation of the site reaches a height of 843 m. To the west of the Forêt de communale Pfaff Home, which forms a unit with the Forêt de communale West is holding. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges.

  • The church of St. Martin was originally built in 1235. From this time the choir is still preserved Romanesque- Gothic transition style. The viticulture plays a prominent role in Pfaff home. Large areas are planted with vines. The place is one of the 33 municipalities in the Upper Rhine, which are involved in the Alsace Grand Cru ( together with the south west and hold the Steinert ).
