Biltzheim

Biltzheim (Alsatian Biltze until 2003 Bilzheim ) is a commune with 397 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the canton in the Arrondissement Ensisheim Guebwiller and community association Centre Haut-Rhin.

Geography

Biltzheim located ten kilometers south of Colmar on the left bank of the Ill

The neighboring municipalities are Oberhergheim clockwise in the north and east, Niederentzen in the south, southwest and Rouffach Oberentzen in the west.

History

The village was mentioned in 1278 as Bilolzheim, abode of a man named Bilold, for the first time.

From the First World War, the city was largely spared. During World War II he was temporarily district of the neighboring community Oberhergheim.
