Ponětovice

Ponětovice ( German Punto joke) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers south-east of the center of Brno and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov. In the corridors of the community the battle of Austerlitz took place in 1805.

Geography

Ponětovice located between the Drahany country and the Steinitzer forest in the foothills of the Thaya Schwarza valley floor. The village is situated at the confluence of Roketnice in the Říčka ( Goldbach ). West of Ponětovice is the airport Brno- Tuřany. Through the town, the railway line from Brno leads to Blažovice. At the northeastern edge of the large pond Ponětovický is rybnik.

Neighboring towns are Jiříkovice and Blažovice in the northeast, Prace the southeast, Kobylnice in the south, southwest, and Šlapanice Dvorska in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Ponětovice place in the year 1306.

2nd December 1805 Punto joke was held by the troops of the French Marshal Nicolas Jean -de- Dieu Soult, which was on the western edge of the battlefield of the Battle of Three Emperors. About Punto joke the French brought their wounded in the military hospitals after Schlapanitz. The path along the Gold creek was later named the bloodstream.

Until the abolition of patrimonial regimes in 1848 the place to rule Sokolnice was associated.

In 2000, the new chapel was consecrated, which is the landmark of the village. In the small town founded in 1992, the Billiard Club BC Cerkom Ponětovice, which plays in the first league and already achieved national champion.
