Rajhradice

Rajhradice ( German Klein Raigern ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers south of the center of Brno and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Thaya Schwarza valley floor on the left bank of Svratka opposite the Abbey Rajhrad at the mouth of the creek Ivanovický creek. The local situation Loučka lies in the flood plain, the old town center of Rajhradice east of it on a terrace above the creek Dunávka. Northwest extends the Rajhradská bažantnice ( Popowitzer Forest). To the east, the route leads past the highway D 2 / E 65, the next exit is at 11 Blučina. Two and a half miles to the east lies the deserted village Dunajovice.

Neighboring towns are Rebešovice in the north, Vladimirov in the northeast, Otmarov in the east, and Měnín Albrechtov the southeast, Opatovice in the south, and Holasice Čeladice in the southwest, and Loučka Rajhrad in the west and Hajany and Popovice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the villages Rajhradice and Loučka took place in 1048 in the founding document of the monastery Rajhrad together with Popovice Rajhrad, Opatovice, Ořechov and Domašov as monastic possession.

The easternmost, also belonging to the monastery settlement Dunajovice went out in the 15th century after a fire in the village and the subsequent outbreak of the plague.

After the abolition of patrimonial Louka and Rajhradice formed in 1850 two independent communities in the District Commission Hustopeče. At the end of the 19th century, the name of the municipality Louka changed in Loučka. 1948 both communities were assigned to the Okres Židlochovice. In 1951 the merger of the municipalities Loučka and Rajhradice to a community Rajhradice was. Since then, both villages were together as a result of Baubauung along the road to a unit. After the abolition of Okres Židlochovice the community in 1961 the Okres Brno- venkov assigned and at the same time incorporated Otmarov. Otmarov broke up in 1990 go again.
