Reiff (Rhineland-Palatinate)

Reiff is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. She is a member of the collective municipality.

Geography

Reiff is located in the South Eifel nature on the river Irsen, the Luxembourg border is approximately 5 km enrfernt. The municipality also includes the residential places Banzenhof and in her mouth.

History

Reiff was first mentioned in documents in 1501.

The village belonged until 1794 to the dairy Esch field Arzfeld in the reign Dasbourg that was part of the Duchy of Luxembourg. After the annexation of the Austrian Netherlands, which included the Duchy of Luxembourg by French revolutionary troops in the town Reiff was assigned in 1795 to the Canton Arzfeld in the department of forests.
