Daleiden

Daleiden is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. She is a member of the collective municipality. Daleiden is a nationally recognized resort and recognized as a basic center in accordance with state planning.

Geography

Daleiden located in Islek in close proximity ( 6.6 km ) to the Luxembourg border. The highest point is located on the high Hardt (505 m).

The municipality also includes the villages and habitations Bermichthof, Bommert, Burtdell, Falkenauel, spring, Kalenbornerhof, Laarberg, Neuhof, Schwabert, Before the Hoh, Zingent and Zinglersseif.

History

Was first documented in 1222 Daleiden as belonging to the Abbey of Prüm. At the outbreak of the plague in 1636 and the associated loss of life remember several memorial crosses from this period.

The village belonged until 1794 to the dairy Esch field Arzfeld in the reign Dasbourg that was part of the Duchy of Luxembourg. After the annexation of the Austrian Netherlands, which included the Duchy of Luxembourg by French revolutionary troops in the town Daleiden was assigned in 1795 to the Canton Arzfeld in the department of forests. Due to the decisions on the Congress of Vienna, the former Luxembourg territory east of the Sauer and the Our 1815 awarded to the Kingdom of Prussia. Under the Prussian administration came Daleiden 1816 newly constructed circle Prüm in the Trier region and became the seat of the mayor's Daleiden. 1843 consisted of 106 houses with 645 Daleiden inhabitants. All residents were Catholic.

Because of the landscape and many hiking trails Daleiden is with the tourists, especially the older generation, very popular.
