Herzfeld

Herzfeld is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. She is a member of the collective municipality.

Geography

The municipality is located in the western Eifel, immediately south of the community Leidenborn, located around 5 km from the border triangle Germany - Belgium - Luxembourg. Neighboring communities are suffering Born in the East, Seng Erich in the southeast, Esch field in the south, the west and Harspelt Lützkampen in the northwest. History

By the end of the 18th century Herzfeld was a hamlet that belonged to dairy Harspelt, then to the dairy Leidenborn in the reign Dasbourg. In the context of the Napoleonic Wars, the region came under French administration in 1794 and was one of 1798 at the Mairie Leidenborn in the canton of Prüm in the Saarland Department. Herzfeld was a separate municipality. Ecclesiastical belonged to the parish Herzfeld Großkampen, which belonged to the deanery in the diocese of Liege Stablo.
