Arzfeld

Arzfeld is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It is the administrative seat of the homonymous municipality, which it also belongs. Arzfeld is a nationally recognized tourist and reported as a basic center in accordance with state planning.

The place was first mentioned in a document of 1391 as Ayrtzfelt.

The entire present-day municipality belonged to the end of the 18th century the Duchy of Luxembourg. Arzfeld Halen Bach and Hicke Hausen belonged to the dominion Dasbourg, sticks and Neurath to rule New Castle. After the annexation of the Austrian Netherlands, which included the Duchy of Luxembourg by French revolutionary troops in the five communities was assigned in 1795 to the Canton Arzfeld in the department of forests. Due to the decisions on the Congress of Vienna, the former Luxembourg territory east of the Sauer and the Our 1815 awarded to the Kingdom of Prussia.
