Roscheid
Roscheid is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. She is a member of the collective municipality.
Geography
The municipality is located in Islek in the South Eifel, about 5 km east of the border with Luxembourg. To Roscheid part of the district of Thomas House.
Adjacent communities are Harspelt in the north, Herzfeld in the east, Dahnen the southwest, Esch field in the south and Sevenig (Our) in the west.
77.2 % of its territory is used for agriculture, 18.8% are passed by forest.
History
Roscheid has its origins in the medieval clearing phase, after which the place names mission " distinguishable " points. First mentioned was the place as " Roischeit " in 1451st The basic rule had the Prüm Abbey.
The village belonged until 1794 to the dairy Esch field Arzfeld in the reign Dasbourg that was part of the Duchy of Luxembourg. After the annexation of the Austrian Netherlands, which included the Duchy of Luxembourg by French revolutionary troops in the town Roscheid was assigned in 1795 to the Canton Arzfeld in the department of forests. Due to the decisions on the Congress of Vienna, the former Luxembourg territory east of the Sauer and the Our 1815 awarded to the Kingdom of Prussia. Parish council
The local council in Roscheid consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Worth seeing is an old oak in the district of Thomas House, which is designated as a natural monument.

Economy and infrastructure
Roscheid is an agricultural municipality today. Since 1971, when still 22 farms were counted, the agricultural area of 343 ha slightly to 340 ha ( 2010) has decreased, which are managed by six companies.
