Riegersberg

Riegersberg with 988 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) is a municipality in the district court Fürstenfeld and in the political district of Hartberg in Styria Fürstenfeld in Austria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the communities Vorau, Puchegg, Schachen at Vorau Vornholz, the new community will continue to use the name " Vorau ".

Geography

Geographical Location

Riegersberg located in Joglland about 16 km north-west of the district capital Hartberg. The community is located between Vorau in the south and the valley of the Lafnitz in the north and extends east to the mouth of the Voraubaches in the Lafnitz. Both tributaries drain the municipality. The northwest of Riegersberg is covered by vast forests.

Riegersberg is a many settlements distributed community. It consists of the two local villages and towns of the same name Reinberg ( 743.42 ha, 275 inhabitants) and Riegersbach ( 1722.36 ha, 771 inhabitants) (as of 2001). Reinberg is made up of the districts Reinberg, Beigütl, Buhl, Goldberg, Haidbauer, Kotting village, Lafnitzmühle, fiefs Mayerhof, Pferschy, Tamp and Winkl; Riegersberg: Field peasants, Forster, Karl on the maintenance, Kernbauer, Moihof, Pichl, ripe Bach, Stiftingbauern, Theißl, forest stream and Weissbach.

Municipal amalgamation

On 1 January 1967, the formerly independent communities Riegersbach and Reinberg closed ( today's cadastral ) together for community Riegersberg. The community name is a portmanteau of the two Altgemeinden.

History

Reinberg

As Vorau Abbey was founded in 1163, the territory of Reinberg was not yet settled. Towards the end of the 12th century laid the Stubenberger at the confluence of Lafnitz and Voraubach a castle at, below which the village was built Reinberg. The name Ruomberch (Glory Mountain, Ehrenberg ) was first mentioned in 1217. As a result of clashes between the Vorau and the salvors had to exchange the pin assign for the purpose of border fortification, the territory of modern cadastral. The settlement began in the 13th century through the establishment of Waldhufen systems.

The former castle no longer exists. The Grange Castle stood on the site of the rotting Mayerhof. At the site of the castle today is a church as the successor of the old chapel. The population of the village declined steadily and amounted in 1822 only six.

From 1850 to 1967 Reinberg was an independent municipality, before it merged with the municipality of Riegersbach Riegersberg.

Riegersbach

The territory of the present cadastral Riegersbach was at the foundation of the monastery Vorau in 1163 to its possession, but was cleared and settled in the 13th century. The settlement Riegersbach is named after its founder provost Rudiger, who is mentioned in documents from 1237 to 1240 in Vorau.

During the Middle Ages the farms in the range of Riegersbach donations in money and in kind had (cheese, eggs, chicken ) to be paid to the pin. In addition, the farmers were obliged to forced labor.

From 1850 to 1967 Riegersbach was an independent municipality, before it merged with the municipality of Reinberg Riegersberg.

Parks

The game reserve has an area of ​​about six acres. It gives the deer and the European mouflon space for a welfare. The game has the opportunity to retreat into the forest or grazing in a meadow. The animals can be observed from the high seats at the edge.

Traffic

Riegersberg is off the main roads and has little through traffic. The country road along the Lafnitz leads to the northern boundary of the municipality along the country road from Rohrbach an der Lafnitz after Vorau along the southern boundary of the municipality. The South A 2 motorway from Vienna to Graz is about 27 km away, and over the junction Pinkafeld (100 ) can be achieved. The change road B 54 from Wiener Neustadt to Hartberg is about 16 km away.

Riegersberg does not have a railway connection. The nearest railway station is the railway station Rohrbach- Vorau in about five miles away.

Graz Airport and Flughafen Wien -Schwechat are both approximately 100 km away.
