Rolf-Göran Bengtsson

Rolf- Göran Bengtsson ( born June 2, 1962 in Lund, Skåne län) is a Swedish show jumper and individual silver medalist of the Olympic Summer Games in 2008.

From January to October 2012, he was the first Swede ever world ranking first in show jumping. In June 2013, he is ranked nine in the world rankings.

Career

Rolf- Göran Bengtsson grew up the son of a horse breeder and rural rider. Already during his school years he started in his home at horse shows, 1977 and 1979, he became Swedish champion in the pony versatility. After completing his school career Bengtsson took an apprenticeship as a mechanic for agricultural machinery and worked six years in this profession. Then Bengtsson spent two months in the stable of the British show jumper David Broome. As a result, Bengtsson built the family business to a training stable for horses and took in training. In 1997, he got by Jan Tops the offer to act as a heater in the barn in Valkenswaard. Bengtsson accepted this offer and leased parental investment - which is the case today. Since 2003, Rolf- Göran Bengtsson operates together with the former Danish jumpers Bo Kristoffersen a competition yard on the layout of Breido Graf zu Rantzau near Itzehoe.

The first successes in international championships celebrated Rolf -Goran Bengtsson in the years 1994 to 1996 with the horse Paradiso.

From 2006 to 2009 he performed with the horse Ninja at international championships. At the World Equestrian Games in Aachen in 2006 he reached the 12th place with the team and the 19th place in the individual standings. At the European Championships in 2007 in Mannheim, he erritt 5th place with the team and the 32nd place in the individual standings. One of the biggest successes of his career, he was able to celebrate when he was in the individual competition won the silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games. Here he was with the team of eight. The 8th place in the team standings and 7th place in the individual standings Rolf -Göran Bengtsson reached at the European Championships in 2009 in Windsor.

At the European Championships in 2011, he won the first singles gold ninja, with the team he finished fifth. In 2012, he was with Casall sixth at the World Cup finals.

At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Summer Games in 2012 he was given the honor of being flag bearers of the Swedish team.
