Geography
The municipality is located on a ridge on the right bank of Orla, about eight kilometers northwest of the city Triptis.
Community structure
The municipality consists of the villages rose village and Zwackau.
History
Rose village was mentioned for the first time on October 4, 1209 under the name of hunger village documented. Only in the 17th century, the village was given its present name. The first mention of Zwackau was named Cwackow ( Cwakow ) in a feudal register of the year 1378th

Coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on 9 January 1995 by the Thuringian State Office of Administration.
Blazon: ". Among green toothed head of the shield, wherein a golden leftist spike in silver a red rose with golden slugs and green sepals "
The green sign head with the golden ear of corn symbolizes the main industries of both districts rose village and Zwackau, namely agriculture and forestry. For the hamlet of Rose Village was added to the coat of arms as a canting symbol a rose.
