Silůvky

Silůvky ( German Siluwka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers east of Ivančice and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Silůvky is located in the Valley of the Satava at the junction of Bobravská Highlands to Thaya Schwarza valley floor. The village lies on the edge of the nature park Bobrava. To the north rises the Horka (321 meters) in the southeast of the Jalovčiny ( 337 meters ) and southwest of the Bukovina (385 meters). West of the village is the railway line Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou - Brno runs through the forest, there is also the station Silůvky.

Neighboring towns are Prštice in the north, Nebovidy in the northeast, Ořechovičky, Ořechov and Tikovice in the east, and Syrovice Bratčice the southeast, Mělčany, Dolni Kounice and Nové Bránice in the south, Moravské Bránice the southwest, Ivančice in the west and Hlína in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village took place in 1277th

After the abolition of patrimonial Silůvky formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Brno team. In the 1860s, west of the village was the construction of the railway Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou - Střelice. In 1921, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Brno- venkov. Between 1948 and 1960 Silůvky belonged to Okres Brno- okolí. After its cancellation Silůvky came back to Okres Brno- venkov.
