The Société Automobiles Ménara is an existing since 1993 automobile manufacturer with headquarters in Casablanca and organizer of the Renault Clio RS Cup.

Company History

CANAM

Getting Started for a company began the electrician Gilbert Guzzo, when he was able to persuade the then head of the oil company Texaco to build a service station with a shop for him. The first foundation was under the company name under which CANAM addition to the sale of fuels also caravans and speedboats were produced under this brand name.

After this successful start, finally started with the manufacture of trailers and later also of rides for amusement parks. A restricted only to the local market activity was the real estate business with new buildings and the construction of special machines.

Ménara

In 1993, the company received unexpectedly commissioned to make a replica of the Peugeot Bébé of 1913. The command to do this came from the estate of her late Majesty King Hassan II To tackle the new project, the company had to find a larger site and opted for the rearrangement in an empty factory nearby. Since then, the company property includes an area of ​​10,000 m². The company's name was officially changed to Société Automobiles Ménara. The Bébé replica finally got the model name CANAM Ménara and remained for some years in the model program.

Other replicas were eventually created from the models Buick Model 35 from 1912, a De Dion -Bouton Landaulet from 1908, a Buick 45 Touring from 1917 and a Citroën 5CV Trèfle of 1928. However, these were only individual pieces and also received no independent model name. These were to exact 1:1 copies.

The company has since also deals with the restoration of old cars and has been restored by order of the royal family, a Ford Model C and a Chrysler CB in 1934 to its original condition.

Another model in the program line-up Ménaras has several years of luxury and self-designed classic roadster Ménara WSC 2002. This seemingly in the style of a vintage car is manufactured in handwork and includes all the equipment required by the customer. So far the car is however only available as a two-seater.
