South Korea at the 1956 Summer Olympics
South Korea took part in the Summer Olympic Games 1956 in Melbourne, Australia with a delegation of 35 athletes (all men) in 23 competitions in seven sports part. There were two medals ( one silver and bronze each ) to be won. The youngest athlete was the basketball player Kim Yeong -gi (20 years and 321 days), the oldest athlete was the weightlifter Kim Seong- jip (37 years and 316 days). It was the third participation of the country in the Olympic Summer Games.
