Stefan Lindemann

Stefan Lindemann (born 30 September 1980 in Erfurt ) is a former German figure skater, who started in a single run.

Career

At the age of four years, Stefan Lindemann began in Erfurt at the local skating club with the ice skating. The idea for it came from a colleague of his mother. At twelve, he wanted to switch to ice hockey, but this was prevented by his mother. So he stayed with the figure skating and came into the training group by Ilona Schindler, what he should never regret. After high school sports high school in Pierre de Coubertin in Erfurt Lindemann undertook the Bundeswehr and was sporting a soldier to find sufficient support and opportunities for his sport.

Already with 14 years Lindemann had his first notable appearance at the German Junior Championships, where he finished fourth. The following year, he competed in the German championships and was twelfth. In 1997, he was fourth in 1999 and second in 2000, he managed to become German champions. But the real sensation was that for the first time the German Skating Union, he won a junior world title in March 2000. It was the first and only Junior World Championship title for a German figure skaters in the men's singles. In the same year, however, Lindemann crashed heavily and retired at the Sparkassen Cup a medial ligament sprain in the right knee joint with internal ligament tear and a sprain of the ankle to.

In March 2004, Lindemann returned to the world class and experienced, was the culmination of his career: After he became German champion again, he won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Dortmund behind Yevgeny Plyushchenko and Brian Joubert. This was the first World Championship medal for a German figure skater in men's singles since Norbert Schramm winning the silver medal at the World Cup 1983. 2005 won Lindemann at the European Championships 2005 in Turin, again behind Plyushchenko and Joubert, the bronze medal. It was the first European medal for a German figure skater since 1984, when Rudi Cerne Silver and Norbert Schramm won bronze. The World Cup 2005 was not quite as happy as the year before. In summer 2006, Lindemann separated from his longtime trainer Ilona Schindler. He went to Berlin to Viola Striegler, but started up in 2009 for the ESC Erfurt (now BSV 92 Berlin). Because of an adductor strain Stefan Lindemann could not start in the 2007/2008 season.

Stefan Lindemann was after a long injury break German champion 2010. He already met before, as well as Peter Lieber, the Olympic standard.
