Stein-Bockenheim

Stone - block home is a municipality in the district Alzey- Worms in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Wöllstein.

Geography

As a wine-growing village stone trestle home is located in the largest wine-growing district of Germany and driving in the middle of the Rheinhessen Switzerland in the wine growing region of Rheinhessen. 160 hectares of the municipal area are vineyards and 390 hectares of meadows and fields. The town is dominated by the 36m high tower of the Protestant Church.

South of stone - block home stems from the Dunzelbach.

History

The first mention was in 784 as Buckenheim.

Parish council

The local council in stone - block home consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The emblem of the municipality is the ibex, which however has no historical roots. He should probably characterize the prefix " stone ", but which was not introduced until late as a differentiator for the homonymous village name and, if the former owner, the Rhinegraves goes back to the stone.

  • Old cemetery at the protestant church; 50 Wilhelminian grave stones, 2nd half of 19th century 1910, including the Knight family tomb in 1900, bronze angel by the sculptor Otto Büchting
  • Protestant rectory, Church Street 11; Half-timbered building of the 17th century, massive replacements 1865/66, Archway of 1600
  • Town Hall, Bach Gasse 15; late classical Walmdachbau of 1887
  • Water tank, outside the district at the K 7, expressionistic excited Bossenquaderbau 1927
  • Track rest of the Synagode, Bach Gasse, corner of Breite Gasse; of 1750-1937 was the Synagode in an old building that was auctioned in 1937. The synagogue building was completely rebuilt; there remained only some sandstone surrounds receive, including through a gate with only partially readable year 17xx.

Economy

To promote wine tourism a winery operates a guest house, which was awarded by the DEHOGA with four stars.
