Freimersheim

Freimersheim is a wine village in the Alzey-Worms district in Rhineland- Palatinate. The municipality belongs to the municipality of Alzey -Land.

Geographical location

The community is a wine-growing village in Rheinhessen. Freimersheim lies at the source of Weidasserbaches.

Freimersheim has its own train station with hourly traffic flow of Mainz and Frankfurt, as well as a motorway junction with the highway 63 There are regular bus services to Alzey.

History

763 Freimersheim is first mentioned in a document of the monastery Lorsch. The name is derived from Frimâr, " Home / settlement of Frimâr and his family ." Owned by the Office Alzey was Freimersheim from the High Middle Ages to the French Revolution in the possession of the Palatinate.

At times, the place to distinguish between identical and similar place names Freimersheim was named after the observatory.

After the Second World War, many refugees from the East settled, especially Silesians.

In 2003, finally Freimersheim receives after a long debate within the administration a sewer system, which is completed in late 2007.

Structures

To Freimersheim include two churches, a Catholic from the 13th century, and an evangelical church with a Stumm organ. Another little attraction offers a made-up rural wooden house, a replica of the original Freimersheimer half-timbered houses, built in the late 1990s. So far, the interior is not yet finished. In addition, a well-preserved water tank from the 19th century to besichten, which lies on a hill next to the train tracks, and is being restored by private individuals since 2006.
