Técnicas Reunidas

Técnicas Reunidas, S. A. ( TRSA ) is a Spanish general contractor that offers the development, acquisition and construction of industrial and power plants, specifically for the petroleum industry. Since April 2008, the company is part of the IBEX 35 stock market index.

TRSA is a holding organization of companies that are able to build turnkey world. Since 1959 the group has built more than 1000 industrial plants worldwide. The international activities account for approximately 70 % of the annual business of the company, especially in Latin America and China. The company has expanded its presence in the Middle East also lately, and TRSA received in January 2009 a large contract in the amount of $ 1.2 billion for the development of two oil fields in the United Arab Emirates, a subsidiary of ADNOC.

Organization

The divisions of TRSA are oil and gas, power generation and infrastructure.

The divisions that include covering the companies of the group: Erdölchemie, heat transfer, combined heat and power and renewable energy, fertilizers and inorganic chemistry, environmental engineering, iron and steel plants, metallurgy, mining and hydrometallurgy.

Research and Development

Since 1971 the company has a dedicated area for research and development. The R & D center is located in Madrid, Spain, and is equipped with laboratory facilities and pilot plants that can adapt to different configurations. The R & D department develops new processes and improve the existing in terms of economy and technology. For this, techniques and procedures of disciplines such as hydrometallurgy and electrochemistry are applied. The main goal is the scaling of laboratory tests to industrial application.
