Théding

Théding ( German: Thedingen ) is a commune with 2422 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach and Canton Behren- lès -Forbach.

Geography

The municipality is located in the north of Lorraine near the German border, five kilometers south of Forbach away.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1252 as Tatinga or Tetinga, other names were Theitinga ( 1275 ), Thetingen ( 1324 ) and Thedingen ( 1429).
