Toyota Isis

Toyota Isis Platana

The Toyota Isis is a seven - seater van, which is produced by the Kanto Auto Works on behalf of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota. It is sold only in Japan and was presented there in September 2004. It has sliding doors and either front - or all-wheel drive. The four-cylinder engines are available with 1.8 or 2.0 liter displacement. Its competitors are the Honda Stream and the Nissan Lafesta.

Isis has particular sliding doors, wherein the front and rear doors be locked to each other, rather than in the mounted on the B-column locks. Toyota calls this system "Panoramic Door " (Eng.: panoramic doors). The Isis has this system but only on the passenger side. On the driver side the doors will lock in conventional locks. The front passenger seat can be completely folded up and pushed forward to facilitate entry to the rear seat passengers. The doors are locked in the roof and floor, so they can be opened and closed individually. This door system was used by Toyota for the first time in the room model. Also, the Tundra Extra Cab in the U.S. has this facility. For the first time in the world it was used in the Nissan Prairie 1981.

The model 2007 was first offered as an option, the telematics system G -Book.

The car is called Isis after the Egyptian deity Isis, whose worship was widespread throughout the Greco-Roman world. She was the ideal mother and wife, mother nature and magic friend of slaves, sinners, artists and miserable, adored, and they also listened to the prayers of the powerful, beautiful, aristocrats and rulers. Isis is the goddess of motherhood and fertility.
