Toyota Mega Cruiser

Toyota Mega Cruiser

The Toyota Mega Cruiser is a large SUV with a remarkable resemblance to the famous Hummer H1. He has been manufactured since 1995, but since 2002 no more than civil version available. Today he is best known as a military version for the transport of infantry and also with mounted howitzer or air missile for the Japanese Self-Defense Forces.

The Mega Cruiser was never actually intended primarily for civilian use and was therefore only in Japan, mainly sold to forces of the police, fire fighters and military transport tasks. This vehicle should constructions that should be used if possible in the produced in large series Toyota Landcruiser (such as the Land Cruiser ), are tested, but sold poorly.

The Mega Cruiser had a 4.1 -liter R4 turbo diesel engine. The machine was designed for high torque at low engine speeds. The SUV with four-wheel drive had differentials on front and rear axle, and a center differential and four-wheel steering. He proved that time as a true workhorse of the SUV.
