Toyota Tacoma
The Toyota Tacoma is a pickup truck manufactured by Toyota since 1995. The second-generation Tacoma was named by the magazine Motor Trend Truck of the Year 2005. The car was named after the U.S. city of Tacoma (Washington).

1st Generation (1995-2004 )
Toyota Tacoma (1995-1997)
A model named Tacoma was first introduced in 1995 and came from the offered worldwide Hilux. The Hilux was simply sold in the U.S. until 1995 when Toyota truck.
Overall, there were three engines for the Tacoma: the 2.4 -liter R4 with 142 bhp (106 kW ) of power and 217 Nm of torque, the 2.7 -liter with 150 bhp R4 (112 kW ) of power and 240 Nm of torque and the 3.4 -liter V6 with 190 bhp (142 kW ) of power and 298 Nm of torque. In the first years of production the Tacoma sold very well and drew particular at young buyers. The first generation was subjected to a total of two facelifts, first in 1998 and the second in 2001. At the Chicago Auto Show 2004 Toyota showed a larger and more powerful Tacoma. This car was in 18 different configurations, that included three cab variants, four transmission options, two engine options and two platform lengths. A 4.0 -liter V6 engine, type Toyota 1GR -FE, took the place of the old 3.4 liter. The new V6 models offered many improvements, such as a towing capacity of 2,950 kg and a payload of 750 kg. The new engine produced 236 hp (176 kW ) and had a torque of 361 Nm. The small, all-new 2.7 -liter engine R4 was specified with an output of 159 hp (119 kW) and a torque of 244 Nm.
Toyota also introduced the equipment X-Runner, which replaced the ill- salable S -Runner features of its predecessor. The X-Runner was delivered with the V6 engine in conjunction with a manual six-speed gearbox, 18 " alloy wheels, a lowered suspension by 50mm and an X - Brace suspension package. Safety and structural rigidity

Toyota Racing Development ( TRD)
Since 1998, Toyota offers a new TRD off-road package. The package includes off-road tires on 16 " alloy wheels, TRD shocks, a rear locking differential, and the TRD stickers. Use by the U.S. armed forces
