Utah House of Representatives

The House of Representatives from Utah (Utah House of Representatives ) is the lower house of the Utah State Legislature, the legislature of the U.S. state of Utah.

The chamber of parliament is made up of 75 members, representing an electoral district in each case. Deputies are elected for a two year term. The conference hall of the House of Representatives is located together with the State Senate in Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City, the capital.

Structure of the chamber

Speaker of the House is the Speaker of the House. He is initially elected by the majority faction of the chamber before the confirmation by the whole Parliament follows. The Speaker is also responsible for the course of legislation and monitors the shutdowns in the various committees. Current incumbent is Rebecca D. Lockhart of Provo, members of the Republican from the 64th district election.

Other important office holders are the Majority Leader ( Majority Leader ) and the leader of the opposition (minority leader), who are elected by the respective fractions. The Republican majority faction is led currently by Brad Dee from the 74th electoral district ( Ogden ), Minority leader of the Democrats is David Litvack from the 26 election district ( Salt Lake City).
