In the 18th century, a native of Esslingen am Neckar, in Vienna acting as banker Franz Gottlieb acquired from Palm ( 1691-1749 ) the goods upper and Unterbalzheim, Bodelshofen and Steinbach. In Esslingen, he had also built the Upper Palm 's construction, today's New Town Hall.

Unterboihingen

Even in Roman times there were Unterboihinger district, a Roman bath complex, which was discovered in 1961. Although it was one of the finest and largest baths in Baden- Württemberg, no funds could be applied to their conservation and excavations were filled up during the fall of 1961. A hitherto unknown wall of the plant was cut through development of the site next to the swimming complex in the fall of 2005. However, it could be rescued and taken to the city museum Wendlingen by prudent members of the Museum Association parts. The swimming pool itself was not built over and rests still in the ground.

The first mention of Boihingen found in 1100 and 1130 in the gift books of the monastery Hirsau. However, it is not clear to see whether or Unterboihingen Oberboihingen is meant. A precise distinction between the two places goes back to a deed dated June 5, 1336. Boihingen belonged first to the possession of the Counts of Aichelberglifte and later that of the Wernau. After a long succession cases occurred in 1739 under the rule of Baron Wilhelm Ludwig Thumb von Neuburg.

Through a land swap Wendlingen arrived in 1390 to Hans von Wernau whose descendant Wolf Heinrich sold it in 1545 to Duke Ulrich of Württemberg, and lived now in Bodelshofen. In the mid-16th century Wendlingen received a church primary school. The reorganization Württemberg Wendlingen lost its city rights in 1805, and thus the seat in the parliament. The connection to the newly-built railway line from Plochingen to Reutlingen in 1859 led to the settlement of the first industrial companies, primarily in the textile sector.
