Champeaux-et-la-Chapelle-Pommier

The French community Champeaux -et -la- Chapelle- Pommier, Occitan Champeus e la Chapela Pomiers, located in the northwest of the department of Dordogne in the Aquitaine region. It has 154 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) and is one of 14 municipalities of the canton of Mareuil. Your municipality also forms an integral part of the Périgord -Limousin Regional Natural Park.

Etymology

History

The presence of people in the community Champeaux -et -la- Chapelle- Pommier during the Upper Paleolithic ( Magdalenian ) is documented by engravings in the cave of Font- Bargeix ( the hamlet Bargeix ).
