Rudeau-Ladosse

The French community Rudeau - Ladosse, Occitan Rudeu e Ladaussa, located in the northwest of the department of Dordogne in the Aquitaine region. It has 180 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) and is one of 14 municipalities of the canton of Mareuil. Your municipality also forms an integral part of the Périgord -Limousin Regional Natural Park.

Etymology

The origin of the Occitan name Rudeu and Ladaussa is obscure, possibly either proper names.

Geography

Rudeau - Ladosse (or the center of Rudeau ) is situated 8 kilometers northeast of Mareuil and 10 kilometers southwest of Nontron (air line). The community is surrounded by the following neighboring communities:

  • Connezac in the North
  • Lussas -et- Nontronneau in the Northeast
  • Champeaux -et -la- Chapelle- Pommier in the East
  • Saint- Sulpice- de -Mareuil in the south
  • Puyrenier in the southwest and
  • Beaussac in the West.

In addition to the towns of Rudeau and Ladosse the municipality consists of the following hamlets, farms, a farm and castles:

Bellussière ( Bélussière ), Château de Bellussière, Château des Combes, Gentilhommière de la Rousselière, Geriac, La Brousse, La Grande Metairie, La Grange de Cacal, Le Goupillou, Le Pouzet (disused ), Les Brandichous, Les Chazeaux, Les Combes, Leycoussaudie, Puy Choisi, Roussiaud and Teignac.

The far more important center of Rudeau is very eccentrically positioned - it is located in the southeast corner of the township in south-facing slope above the Nizonne. Ladosse located 4 kilometers to the west on the west corner.

The southern boundary of the municipality to Saint- Sulpice- de -Mareuil is formed by the flowing westward Nizonne. Upon reaching the municipal boundary of Puyrenier the river then turns to the northwest. The north of the parish by the flows coming from Lussas Ruisseau de Beaussac, the seasonal in its headwaters at La Brousse dry falls. It also drained to the west and opens at the Pont du Rateau as a right tributary to the Nizonne. The river forms the northern boundary from Leycoussaudie to Connezac and then the northwest frontier to Beaussac.

The topographically lowest point in the municipality of Rudeau - Ladosse 115 meters above sea level is located at the confluence of the Nizonne with the Russeau de Beaussac ( at the Pont du Rateau on the west corner). The highest point at 203 meters located in the northeast just north of La Grange de Cacal. The absolute height difference therefore amounts to 88 meters.

Geology

The entire municipality is underlain by flat-lying sediments of the northern Aquitaine basin. Structurally include the bedrock for Combiers -Saint -Crépin -de -Richemont syncline. The oldest open-minded formation is the Oxfordian, which borders the upper reaches of the Ruisseau de Beaussac at La Brousse. It consists of beige-colored, fine-grained limestones. About the Oxfordian is transgressive Cenomanian to see further down the valley until shortly before Beaussac. The Cenomanian consists of three units - green, oyster -bearing marls, fine-grained sands and sandy Alveolinenkalken. It follows the Turonian with the Kreidekalken of Ligériens and Rudistenkalken of Angoumiens. The Ligérien follows the left side of the valley of the Ruisseau de Beaussac. The entire southern part of the municipality is occupied by Angoumien. The eastern section ( Bois de Rudeau ) is covered by Pleistocene colluvium. Würmzeitlicher slope debris filled the upper reaches of the Ruisseau de Baussac. The sediments in the floodplains of the Ruisseau de Beaussac and Nizonne date from the Holocene.

South of Ladosse draw two disorders after east-southeast. The northern branch can be traced to Rudeau, the southern attracts the Nizonne. The two disorders are themselves crossed by a northeast - trending fault. This fault system is likely to be to bring to the bending of the layer by the association a little further Southwest Windwärts heeled Mareuil- anticline in conjunction.

The Angoulême formation of Angoumien was once mined as a building block in the Château de Bellussiere.

History

The oldest preserved building in Rudeau - Ladosse is the Château de Bellussière castle from the 11th century. The Château des Combes castle dates from the 16th century. In the 17th century the noble estate (French gentilhommière ) La Rousselière goes back. The local church Saint -Jean in Rudeau was built in the 19th century. The community was called until 1950 only Ladosse; on the Cassini map from 1756 to 1789, it acts as la Dosse, 1793 is mentioned as Ladausse.

The population development in Rudeau - Ladosse is very sharp decline, the population has declined by more than 50% compared with 1962. Moreover, the decline was much more pronounced than in the rest of the canton Mareuil. Since 1999, however, a stabilizing trend seems to use.

The center of Rudeau is located on the D 708 of Nontron after Mareuil. From Rudeau consists of a connection via the D 87 by Beaussac in the West. Furthermore, a municipal road leads along the Nizonne east to Champeaux. Ladosse can be achieved by means of a local road from Beaussac from; it branches off just south of Beaussac of the D 87 to the south from, passing through the center of Ladosse and then passes on to Nizonne and to Saint -Sulpice- de -Mareuil.
