Saint-Pancrace (Dordogne)

Saint- Pancrace Occitan Sent Pancraci, is a commune with 152 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the north of the Dordogne in the Aquitaine region.

Geography

Saint- Pancrace is located seven kilometers north-east of Brantome and eleven kilometers south of Nontron away (air line). The municipality is the border village of Périgord -Limousin Regional Nature Park and is surrounded by the following neighboring communities:

  • Quinsac the north and east
  • Champagnac -de -Belair in the southeast
  • Cantillac the south and southwest
  • Saint- Crépin- de -Richemont (Canton Mareuil ) in the west and
  • La Chapelle- Montmoreau in the northwest.

In addition to the town center, the town of Saint -Pancrace consists of the following hamlets and villages:

Bellevue, Bonnetière, Chabans, Charteau Grand Lac, La Grange, La Plagne, La Vigerie, Le Bouquet, Le Claud, Le Désir, Le Meynieux, Maison Neuve, Petit Clos Sainte Marie des Bois and Vilotte.

In the immediate vicinity of the village rises a small right tributary of the Dronne, which flows in the direction Quinsac to the east. In addition, the community has no other watercourses.

The topographically lowest point at 136 meters above sea level at Grand Lac in the far south. The highest point at 233 meters, is located at Maison Neuve (municipality Cantillac ) in the southwest. The absolute height difference therefore amounts to 97 meters.

Geology

The municipality of Saint- Pancrace lies entirely on lying flat (maximum angle of incidence 10 ° south ) sediments of the northern Aquitaine basin. On the western border of the municipality of Saint- Pancrace leads from north, take the D 675 of Nontron according to Brantome along. Another connection to the D 675 in Bellevue is guaranteed from the center of a local road. A third branch of the D 675 is at Maison Neuve; bypassing the village, this municipal road connects directly to the D 78 and on to Quinsac. On the western edge of the southern enclave stretches along a local road from the D 675 from after Cantillac in the south. The fifth trip to the south is local in nature and passes through the hamlet Vilotte towards Champagnac -de -Belair. Champagnac -de -Belair can also be reached via a groove extending to Southeast municipal road right from the center out.
