Savignac-de-Nontron
Savignac -de- Nontron ( Occitan Savinhac de Nontronh ) is a commune with 194 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the north of the Dordogne in the Aquitaine region. It belongs to the district Nontron and Canton Nontron. It also forms part of the Périgord -Limousin Regional Natural Park.
Geography
Savignac -de- Nontron is located about four kilometers northeast of Nontron and seven kilometers west of Saint- Saud- Lacoussière.
Savignac -de- Nontron is surrounded by the following municipalities:
- Augignac in the north- west and north
- Abjat -sur- Bandiat in the Northeast
- Champs -Romain in the southeast
- Saint- Pardoux- la -Rivière in the south (only one point of contact )
- Nontron the southwest and west
The municipal area of Savignac -de- Nontron include the following hamlets, farmsteads and a former blacksmith:
Aumont, Brouillaud, Chez Baillot, Durentière, Forge Basse, Labesse, Laforet, Lavenaud, Les Châtres, Malibas, Maupuy and Mendet.
The municipality is traversed approximately in the center of Bandiat in southsouthwest direction. A small left tributary of the Bandiat is the Ruisseau du Pont de Rompu Sallat which flows north of the town center in west-north- west to the Bandiat out.
The topographically lowest point of the municipality is located 185 meters above the sea at Brouillaud on Bandiat in the southwest, the highest point at 303 meters on a ridge at Maupuy in the south.
Geology
The territory of Savignac -de- Nontron lies mostly on the Piégut -Pluviers - granodiorite ( Normalfazies ). The granodiorite is locally crossed by up to 30 centimeters powerful, bright Aplitgängen. The passing to the southeast ridge is composed of mica- rich, generally east-southeast - trending paragneisses ( Sillimanitzone ). The contact of the granodiorite with the paragneiss south-east of the town center does not occur abruptly, but is distributed over a range of approximately 100 meters; change in this contact zone granodiorite and paragneiss from each other until the switched Granodioritzüge ultimately disappear completely.

The southeastern border of the municipality is affected by the D 85 of Nontron after Châlus ( Haute- Vienne). From their branches at Maupuy from the D 79 and leads into the village of Savignac -de- Nontron and then down into the Bandiattal. Here she meets on Lavenaud on the D 87 of Abjat -sur- Bandiat after Nontron.
