Nanthiat

Nanthiat, Occitan Nantiac, is a commune with 274 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the north- east of the department of Dordogne in the Aquitaine region.

Etymology

Nanthiat, Occitan Nantiac, derived from Nantuacum with the importance of the domain Nantuus (or Nantius ) ( Roman or Gallo-Roman personal name suffix - acum ). Consideration is also the Gallic word root nanto ( valley ) in allusion to the Valley Isle.

Geography
