1951 Davis Cup

The 1951 Davis Cup was the 40th edition of the competition organized by the ITF for men's national teams in tennis. The competition was held in two continental zones of Europe and the Americas zone. The winners of the two zones played a playoff for the final.

In continental playoff against Sweden, the United States put clear by 5-0, but failed in the subsequent 26 held until 28 December finals to defending champion Australia with 2:3. It was the ninth title in Australia so far.

Playoff

In the playoff between the two winners of the continental zones, the U.S. triumphed over Sweden. The Scandinavians were able to only choose a single set for themselves.

Final

In the final between defending champions Australia and the United States, Australia prevailed 3-2. It was the eighth final of the U.S. against Australia in series. Australia won the ninth title so far.
