Ala (Trentino)

Ala ( German outdated Ahl on the Adige or Halla ) is a municipality with 8908 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) on the Adige in Trentino, located on the border with Veneto (Province of Verona).

By Ala the Brenner motorway leads (A22 ) and the Adige Valley Railway. In the station of Ala keep only the regional trains to Verona or Bologna. Between 1866 and 1919 Ala border station between Austria and Italy.

From the motorway exit Ala can reach the Monte Baldo.

The municipality consists of the villages Ala: Chizzola ( tickle ), Marani, Pilcante, Rifugio Fraccaroli, Rifugio Scalorbi, Ronchi ( Reuttal ), Santa Margherita (Saint Margreth the Adige ), Sega, and Serravalle.
