Andrea Kurth

Andrea Kurth ( born September 30, 1957 in Breitenbrunn / Erzgeb, after marriage. Sredzki Andrea ) is a former rower from the GDR. She won Olympic gold in 1976 in the foursomes with control women.

Andrea Kurth from SC Einheit Dresden sat 1976 in the trained by Richard Wecke DDR - four, who took in the cast Karin Metze, Bianka Swede, Gabriele Lohs, Andrea Kurth and tax Sabine Hess. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, the woman Rowing had its Olympic debut. The boats from the GDR won in the six boat classes four gold medals and two silver medals. The first decision was in the foursome with coxswain and here won the Dresdner boat the first Olympic gold medal in the women's rowing. 1977 were all five rowers from the gold in four DDR - eighth, after they had previously won in the GDR championships.

In 1976 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.

1980 married Andrea Kurth the rowing world champion from 1978 Gerd Sredzki. The qualified sports teacher later worked as a youth coach.
