Because ( German: because ') is a song by The Beatles, released on the album Abbey Road in 1969. Concise to the song is the three-part song, which was recorded three times, so that ultimately nine voices are heard.

Composition

John Lennon later reported that the basic structure of Because arose when him his wife Yoko Ono at the piano was playing the Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. Lennon suggested to her to play the melody backwards, resulting ultimately arose Because.

Recording

On 1 August 1969, the Beatles recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London music for Because on. The song is from an electronic piano (played by producer George Martin ) was introduced. After a few bars is where the character played by John Lennon guitar; later the arrangement or by electric bass (played by Paul McCartney ) is extended. Following Lennon, McCartney and George Harrison took on the striking three-part song for Because.

The following day, the three-part vocals were still recorded two more times, so that the song now consists of a total of nine votes.

On August 5, 1969 Because was an overdub of a Moog synthesizer (played by Harrison ) completes.

The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is not to listen to the recording, but he suggested when recording on 1 August 1969, the hi-hat as a clock. However, this was not recorded.

Because was the last song that was produced for the album Abbey Road.

Publication

This song was released on October 1, 1969, the last studio album of the Beatles Abbey Road.

An a cappella version, in which only the nine -part singing is heard, appeared in 1996 on the third part of the Anthology series of the Beatles. This version has also been used on the album Love as an opener, but there is underlaid with a gentle birdsong and flows seamlessly into the song Get Back.
