Geography

The city is located about 20 km south of downtown Chicago, has an area of 10.7 km ².

History

In 1830 the first settlers, the area around Bridgeview. Between 1870 and 1920, the area was used primarily for agricultural purposes. From the 1920s, the industry began to develop in the area. 1947, the city was founded with 500 inhabitants at that time.

Sports

Bridgeview is the home of Major League Soccer franchise Chicago Fire SC. Their venue Toyota Park in the southwest of the city was largely financed by the inhabitants of the city. The national football team of the United States completed on 10 September 2008 in this stadium a qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup against Trinidad and Tobago ( Result: 3-0 for the USA).
