South Holland is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States and serves as the seat of Thornton Township. According to the census of 2010, the population was 22,030.

History

The area around present-day South Holland was first settled in 1846 by immigrants from Holland. At the official founding in 1894 there were about 1000 inhabitants in the town.
